He’s a trauma RN and football enthusiast who loves to cook.

She’s a wine educator and corporate recruiter who loves wine.

They both swiped right.

In 2015, they started making wine at home on a very small scale using leftover grapes from anyone that would let them go in and pick. By 2017 they had 3 tiny vintages of wine, but lost their entire home in a Northern California firestorm. In one night, almost their entire neighborhood of Coffey Park was lost — which was over 1,400 homes.

They lost everything, including all of the wine that they had just bottled (about 8 cases).

In 2019 they rebuilt their home better than ever and moved back into their neighborhood with their 3 big dogs; Buddy, Vader and Luke.

During that time, Nikki had completed her Certificate in Winemaking from UC Davis and had saved enough gratuities from being a wine educator to purchase their first official grapes. They convinced Joe Ramazzotti of Ramazzotti Wines in Geyserville, CA to sell them 1/2 ton of Sangiovese in 2019 which they helped hand pick. In 2020, they bought again from the Ramazzotti family, but this time a full ton. Sangiovese is not very common in California, so this was a very special arrangement and they are grateful for this relationship with their grower.

Through a special invitation from owner/winemaker Julie Johnson, their dreams are becoming a reality and they are making their wine at Tres Sabores Winery in St Helena, California. Tres Sabores was the first wine club Nikki ever joined and remains a special place for Michael, Nikki and their friends and family.

The first vintage (2019) was bottled in 2021 and sold out in 2022. Each bottle was hand labeled, waxed and numbered, with 286 bottles in total. The 2020 vintage production is 634 bottles, and the 2021 is 870 bottles, finished with the same hand-touches.
